Caching Is NOT The Silver Bullet For Web Site Performance
0 liked this
Today we are going to talk about caching data in web development. Often I hear developers using cache to plaster the cracks of badly written and inefficient code. Phrases such as "Not worry the cache will handle that" or "It's ok that this request is taking 2 minutes as the caching layer will sort that" spring to mind.
Website caching is not the silver bullet for web site performance.

There are so many areas of a web application that could be improved before caching is introduced. Sometimes its worth looking at those first instead of using caching as some sort of performance bandage.
